Ashlen Saulson, MD, is an OB/GYN physician and surgeon at Women's Healthcare Associates in Portland, Oregon.
"I know going to see your OB/GYN may not be the highlight of your week, but I hope that each of my patients feels at ease during her appointment. Being approachable and open to all questions is important to me because I know that being informed gives women more confidence to manage their health--and more trust in our partnership. I am so excited to collaborate with and guide each of my patients in reaching their goals."
As the daughter of a nurse and a physician and a child who loved science, Dr. Saulson knew from a young age she wanted to go into medicine. During her OB/GYN rotation in medical school, she discovered a love for helping women—getting to know them over time, building trust and being able to guide and support them during the momentous times, as well as in day-to-day healthcare. Dr. Saulson attended St. Mary’s Academy in Portland, where the value of education and empowering women was instilled—something she uses in her practice every day. Her goal is to partner with and be present for women, caring for the whole person and making sure every woman she sees feels she has a voice in her care. Dr. Saulson enjoys all aspects of OB/GYN, particularly caring for women during pregnancy, helping them find the right contraception for them and improving the quality of their lives through gynecologic surgery and hormonal management.
Dr. Saulson and her husband are thrilled to be back in Portland. They are the proud parents of two energetic and loving dogs they enjoy taking outdoors. Dr. Saulson also enjoys cooking and skiing, and is looking forward to getting back into horseback riding after a long hiatus through school.

Boy, Dr. Saulson was thorough. Learned some new things. I am very pleased with the time she spent with me.
I live in Corvallis and have struggled for the past three years in regards to medical care. I can't tell you enough how well I was treated by the staff - everyone from the person who took my initial phone call, the two medical assistants who spoke with me before the doctor came in and the doctor who examined me and suggested a course of action. This has been such a welcome change from how I have been treated in Corvallis.
She was so well spoken and it was a perfect appointment experience!
