Allison Austin, MSW, LCSW, is a behavioral and mental health therapist with Women's Healthcare Associates in Tualatin, Oregon.
“I’ve spent most of my career working to help people within different and overlapping systems—education, justice and healthcare. When the systems are working well together, this can really support and uplift people. I am looking forward to using this experience to focus on supporting pregnant and postpartum people in collaboration with the other providers and professionals on their healthcare team.”
Allison began her career working with children, first as a care coordinator, then as a school therapist and also through the juvenile court system in St. Louis. She has spent the last 17 years as part of an integrated managed care system as an advocate, care coordinator and service director to support a diverse group of patients and behavioral health care providers within a broad and multi-functional organization. Throughout her career, what Allison has enjoyed most is getting to know people and support them as they are setting goals, making positive changes and celebrating their own progress. She works with people experiencing pregnancy and postpartum depression, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, early parenting challenges and substance use disorders.
Allison has two teenagers and much of her time away from work is devoted to kid’s activities. She also enjoys reading, hiking, boating and spending time outdoors.
