Dr. Adkins grew up in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth for her undergraduate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, receiving several academic scholarships and graduating with highest honors. She went on to the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and completed her obstetrics and gynecology specialty training at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. During her training, Dr. Adkins was recognized for her work in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
Dr. Adkins is board certified in OB/GYN and has been in private practice since 2007. Her favorite part of medicine is the privilege of partnering with women to help them make decisions about some of the most intimate aspects of their lives and health through their reproductive years and beyond. She has a special interest in contraception, management of menstrual irregularities and post-menopausal bleeding, robotic surgery and pregnancy care.
Dr. Adkins and her husband have three children and enjoy traveling and home improvement projects. She also enjoys reading, trail running and gardening. Her volunteer experience includes working in a clinic for underserved populations and teaching high school students about HIV and sexually transmitted infections.
