Regis grew up in the Midwest as the oldest daughter among five children. Her ultimate choice of career was influenced by her mother, who became one of the first nurse practitioners after putting herself through nursing school. After an early career in social work, Regis returned to school for her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse before receiving her master’s degree in nursing and her family nurse practitioner certification, also from Chapel Hill. After working as a nurse practitioner in a variety of settings, Regis realized that her passion was working with women in all phases of life, including pregnancy and childbirth, so she returned to school for her midwifery certification.
Regis enjoys partnering with women to find optimal solutions to improve their health and well-being. She believes her role is to provide information that empowers women to make informed choices and to provide support for those choices. Whether a woman is considering comfort measures in labor, fitness strategies for weight loss or hormone therapy during menopause, Regis’s goal is to provide helpful, individualized and thoughtful care. She has particular interests in exercise and nutrition, mental health and menopause management.
Regis lives in Portland where she indulges her love for urban hikes, yoga, riding her bike, farmer's markets, bookstores, movies and music.
