Lena grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. She decided on a career in women’s health at an early age with the goal of serving Spanish speakers. She started learning Spanish in middle school and continued through college, completing a study abroad program in Mexico. Lena attended Vassar in Poughkeepsie, New York for her undergraduate degree in neuroscience and behavior. She received her master’s degree from the Boston College William F. Connell School of Nursing with a women’s health nurse practitioner specialty.
Lena helps women maintain optimal health through well-woman care that is targeted toward their age and risk factors for disease. She also helps them manage a range of gynecological issues, and particularly enjoys empowering women to take control of their own fertility. Her areas of special clinical interest include LGBTQ health, family planning, sexual health and sexually transmitted infections.
When she’s not working, Lena enjoys cycling, hiking and running, including training for races. She has run one marathon and several half-marathons.
