Lauren grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and knew she wanted to be involved in helping people from a young age. She received her bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College in Ohio, graduating with highest honors. She attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill for her master’s degree in social work. After graduating, Lauren served as faculty in the university’s Department of Psychiatry working with patients suffering from eating disorders in individual and group in-patient and out-patient settings. She is a licensed clinical social worker.
Lauren appreciates the opportunity to be part of an individual’s support system, helping them find their inner strength and confidence. Her clinical interests include women’s mental health and empowerment, eating disorders, and body acceptance. Many of these interests come from her history working in the field of eating disorders.
Lauren is part of a cooperative program with Lifeworks Northwest. She works onsite in our offices to support the patients of Women’s Healthcare Associates in addressing life issues and reaching their health goals. When she’s not working, Lauren enjoys running, exploring the trails of Oregon and visiting national parks with her husband; they hope to see a national park in every state that has one. Lauren is also looking forward to being a dog owner and is partial to bulldogs and French bulldogs.
