Kathy grew up in Richland, Washington. She attended Oregon State University for bachelor’s degrees in international studies and general science, then went on to obtain her master’s in teaching from Willamette University. Kathy worked as a middle school science and health teacher before returning to school at OHSU for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing and nurse midwifery.
Kathy enjoys providing compassionate care for women of all ages, partnering with them as they navigate their own path to wellness. As a former school teacher, she especially loves working with teens and helping young women understand their bodies and how to be healthy.
In her spare time, Kathy enjoys the company of family and friends and is active in her church community and as a volunteer in the Portland area. She loves baking, travel, gardening and outdoor activities, especially in the mountains or at the coast. She is part of a musical family—her two sons both play instruments—and she and her husband are often helping with the marching band or attending concerts and recitals.
