Joanna grew up on military bases all over the U.S. and Europe. She attended Brigham Young University on a full academic scholarship for her bachelor’s degree in exercise science, graduating magna cum laude. She went on to the University of Utah for her Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Joanna’s diverse background meeting new people frequently and being immersed in different cultures has given her an appreciation for the unique social and ethnic perspectives women bring to their understanding of their own health and an open and comfortable bedside manner with people of all cultures.
Joanna enjoys helping women understand their own health and what they can do to improve their lives, such as healthy eating and exercise. Her goal is to help women feel empowered to make healthy choices and feel confident in and comfortable with their bodies. She is passionate about teaching and answering questions and enjoys collaborating with patients to find solutions they are comfortable with. Her particular clinical interests include weight management, contraceptive management and preconception counseling.
Joanna enjoys reading, running, painting and spending time with her husband and two young children.
