Jennifer grew up in Newport, Oregon. She attended the University of Oregon for her bachelor’s degree in human physiology and Seattle University for her master’s degree in nurse midwifery. During school and practical training, Jennifer was honored with awards from the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the Health Resources Services Administration.
Jennifer considers serving women and families an honor. Her goal is to partner with women to help them understand their health and choices so they feel comfortable and informed in making decisions for their wellness. Her interests include preventative health, contraception and natural, out-of-hospital childbirth. In addition to seeing women in clinic at WHA’s Gresham Station office, Jennifer will also care for women at the Midwifery Birth Center.
"I believe the birth experience is not one-size-fits-all and that every woman should be able to choose the environment that she feels comfortable and safe in. For some, this may be the hospital and the knowledge that there are many people and advanced technology close at hand. For others, it may be the more relaxed, calm setting of the birth center with the safety of a hospital nearby. Birth can be beautiful and satisfying in any setting, but working at a birth center is the way I have chosen to ensure women have this option. I love being able to provide individualized care to women and families in this comfortable setting."
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors (especially backpacking), travel, a good cup of tea and cooking from scratch.
