Janelle is a native Oregonian and grew up in Corvallis. She received bachelor’s degrees in cultural anthropology from Oregon State University and nursing from OHSU, graduating from both programs with honors. After nursing school, Janelle cared for diverse patient populations including acute care and labor and delivery prior to and while attending Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky for her master's in nurse-midwifery.
Janelle has been fascinated by birth from childhood and nurse-midwifery aligns perfectly with her desires to be with women during their birth experience. She enjoys nurturing women and their families during this time and providing care rooted in the core values of midwifery. She is also passionate about providing education to young women to help them better understand issues surrounding women’s health and contraception.
In her spare time, Janelle enjoys running, reading and a wide variety of music. On weekends you will often find Janelle and her husband cheering their daughter on at soccer games.
