Christina grew up in Glendale, Arizona. She attended Northern Arizona University for her undergraduate degree in theater performance. She worked in Chicago as an actor in Shakespearean productions and children’s theater before determining that healthcare was how she could best contribute to the world around her. After working as a doula with direct entry midwives, Christina came to Oregon to attend nursing school at Oregon Health & Sciences University and received her master’s degree in the nurse midwifery program. She has worked as a midwife in the clinic setting for the past five years, helping teenage through menopausal women maintain optimal health and address a wide range issues.
Christina has always been drawn to women’s health and finds great satisfaction in make sure women have the information they need to make health choices that are right for them. She enjoys connecting with patients, understanding their needs and being a gentle, supporting presence to everyone she cares for. She has a special interest in contraception and making sure women have a birth control method that works for them.
When she’s not working, Christina is an avid quilter – she even writes about quilting and teaches classes! In addition to sewing, she enjoys science fiction, women’s soccer, classical music and Portland’s extensive food and beer options. She and her husband live with their two young children in southeast Portland.
